Gallery for Käthe Buchler's Photographs of Germany in the Great War

This exhibition focuses on the amateur photographer Käthe Buchler, whose work forms one of the featured collections of the German Photographic Museum in Braunschweig, Lower Saxony.

Buchler photographed the German home front during the First World War. Her black & white images feature members of her family, working children, injured soldiers returning to Braunschweig, and a series called ‘women in male-dominated professions’.

See the gallery below which shows sample from the exhibit and visit the "Beyond the Battlefields: Käthe Buchler's Photographs of Germany in the Great War" event page for more information about where the event is touring to next.
