Current Funding Opportunities and upcoming activity

Connected Communities Festival 15th – 29th June 2015, UK wide

The Festival will focus on creative ways of increasing community engagement with Connected Communities and AHRC-funded research.  This year events will be co-produced by researchers, research organisations and community partners to deliver interactive outreach activities at a regional / local /community level. Collectively these locally organised activities will contribute to a UK-wide Festival programme of events and digital activities held as a part of a ‘Festival Fortnight’ between 15th and 29th June 2015. The 2015 Festival is also included in the AHRC’s 10 year anniversary programme of activities.

To complement the community-engagement focus of the Festival the Programme Leadership Fellows will be organising a Connected Communities Research Conference to be held in Norwich during Summer 2015 and a separate call for papers for this conference will be issued for this shortly.

On-going funding opportunities – Responsive Mode

Research Council responsive mode funding schemes are a key funding opportunity for the programme and we are happy to consider linking in relevant responsive mode grants into the programme. Applications which cut across Research Council boundaries are particularly welcome and will be handled in accordance with the recently updated Cross-Council Funding Agreement.  As this is a cross council programme proposals can be submitted to the responsive mode of any appropriate council.

Given the Programme’s emphasis on community engagement throughout the research process we have produced some additional guidance on the inclusion of community partner costs within Connected Communities applications to the AHRC: Connected Community Partner Costs (PDF, 121KB).
