Marking the end of the Somme Centenary, a free WWI Community history event is being held at the University of Brighton (disability accessible building).
After an introduction by Nicola Benge, The Orange Lilies Project Manager, the following speakers provide an interesting and interactive afternoon:
2.15 – 3pm: Dr Lucy Noakes – The Home Front - Sussex in WWI
3.15- 4pm: Colonel R.M. Arnold – President of The Royal Sussex Regimental Association (Battle of Boar’s Head)
4.15 – 5pm: Jennifer Roberts – Female Munitions Workers (Munitionettes) in Brighton & Hove
In addition, Battle of Boar’s Head exhibition appears courtesy of Royal Pavilion & Museums, Brighton & Hove, and WWI exhibitions and resources from Gateways to the First World War (an AHRC Funded WW1 Engagement Centre) and The Royal British Legion.
