SPF Landscape Decisions: Towards a new framework for using land assets – Research Networking and Follow-on Funding Highlight Notices

UK Research & Innovation are inviting applications to calls funded through the Strategic Priorities Fund (SPF) Landscape Decisions: Towards a new framework for using land assets programme. AHRC is a partner in this cross-disciplinary Programme and is pleased to announce the following two ‘highlight notice’ calls:

Research Networking call on Changing Landscapes: Towards a new Decision Making Framework for UK Landscapes and Land Assets

This highlight notice within AHRC’s Research Networking Scheme invites applications which seek to develop dialogue, collaborations and/or partnerships to inform decision-making about landscape, land-use and land assets. Research Networks are expected to explore and develop the important and distinctive contributions that arts and humanities research can make to cross- disciplinary, collaborative research exploring the ways in which we make decisions about the future of landscapes and land assets in the UK. Applications will need to cut across disciplinary boundaries as well as the boundaries between academia and stakeholder groups with an interest in decision-making about landscape.

Further details about this call can be found in the Research Networking call document attached below. The closing date for applications is 16:00 BST, Thursday 11 July 2019. Research Networking awards under the highlight notice can be for up to £45,000 (fEC to which the Research Councils will contribute 80% fEC) and up to 2 years duration, starting between 1 November 2019 and 1 January 2020. Subject to the quality and fit of the applications received, we anticipate funding in the region of 10-15 research networks through this highlight notice.

Follow-on Funding Call to Develop the Impact of Past Research on Landscape Decision-making

This highlight notice in AHRC’s Follow-on Funding Scheme for Impact and Engagement is intended to encourage the development of proposals which will enhance the impact of arts and humanities research (including inter-disciplinary projects with a substantial arts and humanities component) funded by the UK Research Councils on decision-making related to landscape, land use and land assets. Applications are invited which seek to explore new pathways to impact and to engage new audiences with the arts and humanities / interdisciplinary research conducted. Proposals will need to be proactive in building engagement between arts and humanities research and stakeholder groups with an interest in decision-making about landscape.

Further details about this call can be found in the FoF call document attached below. The closing date for applications is 16:00 BST, Thursday 18 July 2019. Follow-on awards under the highlight notice can be for up to £100,000 (fEC to which the Research Councils will contribute 80% fEC) and up to 1 year in duration, starting between 1 November 2019 and 1 January 2020. Subject to the quality and fit of the applications received, we anticipate funding in the region of 10-12 follow-on projects through this highlight notice.
