Newton Fund: Malaysia Small Scale Research Partnerships Call
The AHRC and the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MoHE) are pleased to invite applications to the Newton Fund UK – Southeast Asia Small Scale Research Partnerships Call for Proposals 2016.
This initiative will provide funding for flexible, short-term support for high-quality, collaborative research which addresses the topic of Creative Economy and Cultural Heritage.
The aim is to deliver research that will provide new insights and stimulate creative thinking to tackle real world problems and will contribute to the economic development and welfare of Southeast Asia. The longer term objective is to establish sustainable collaborations between UK and Southeast Asian researchers that will increase the competitiveness of these researchers in gaining funds for excellent research in future funding calls, either under the Newton Fund or through other routes.
Proposals recognising the multidisciplinary nature of the topic, and the development of interdisciplinary collaborations are particularly welcome.
Applicants are invited to submit proposals comprising eligible researchers from the UK and Malaysia. All proposals will be required to have a UK Principal Investigator and a Principal Investigator from Malaysia.
Applicants should consider how their proposal makes the best use of available expertise in the UK and Southeast Asia, the added value of collaboration, and how the proposal will meet the Official Development Assistance (ODA) requirements of this Newton Fund activity.
