AHRC-MRC Global Public Health: Global Challenge Research Fund Partnership Awards
The AHRC and MRC are pleased to announce the launch of the first of two consecutive partnership award calls in 2017 under the Global Challenge Research Fund (GCRF).
The initiative seeks to bring together knowledge from medical science and public health with an understanding of local knowledge, cultural dynamics, community engagement and trust to inform public health challenges in Lower and Middle Income Countries (LMICs)
The overarching driver of this proposed partnership building activity is to build inter-disciplinary research capacity and capability and support research innovation by bringing together expertise in medical science and health interventions in developing countries with arts and humanities research expertise in understanding of issues such as human behaviours, local knowledges, cultural dynamics, community engagement and trust and to build and strengthen international research collaboration and partnerships.
In order not to limit the potential for inter-disciplinary innovation under this call the call is open to proposals addressing any global public health issue affecting low and middle countries. Further details of the scope is provided in the call document.
To support networking and discuss the objectives of this activity, the AHRC and MRC will be holding an all-day networking and information event at the UK Collaborative for Development Science at the Wellcome Building in Central London on 12th April 2017. The event will provide an opportunity to discuss partnership opportunities relevant to the call and for interested researchers and collaborators to meet and discuss opportunities for partnership working under this funding scheme. Further details of the event and how to apply for a place can be found on our event pages. A second networking and information event will be held prior to the launch of the second call. Further information about the call will be announced on the AHRC and MRC websites in due course. For more details, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
