Knowledge Exchange Programme: AHRC and BBC Pilot Funding Call

The AHRC and BBC Future Media and Technology are working together to develop a long term collaborative strategic partnership underpinned by AHRC's strategy to enable collaborative strategic research and development in the arts and humanities. The aim of the partnership is to bring together the arts and humanities research community with BBC Future Media and Technology staff to enable co-funded knowledge exchange and collaborative research and development.

Block Grant Partnerships 2008

Block Grant Partnerships (BGPs) are awards made to Research Organisations (ROs) for an allocation of postgraduate studentships in specific subject areas and schemes (i.e. Masters or Doctoral). The allocations are for 5 cohorts of students, commencing with students beginning their postgraduate study in the 2009-10 academic year.

AHRC/EPSRC Research Clusters in Science and Heritage

This call for proposals within the Science and Heritage Programme aims to support innovative cross-sector and interdisciplinary networking activities, falling within research clusters. Proposals with full economic costs of up to £30,000 and for a period of between 4 and 12 months may be submitted.

Research Networks and Workshops - Religion and Society

Closing Date: 02/10/2008

These awards will support successful applicants to run either a series of workshops over one year (up to £15,000 fEC), or a network of researchers over two years (up to £30,000 fEC). Proposals - with full economic costs of up to £30,000 for workshops or £60,000 for networks - that seek to develop international partnerships with colleagues outside the UK from areas targeted in the AHRC's International Strategy will also be eligible.

The Interdisciplinary Research Networks and Workshops scheme is designed to encourage and enable discussion and development of ideas by researchers through establishing new research networks or running a series of workshops, seminars or similar events.

Research Leave

Closing Date: 05/03/2009

​The final deadline for the Research Leave scheme has now taken place. Following a period of consultation on the AHRC’s support for individual researchers in 2008, the scheme has been replaced by a new Fellowships scheme. Details of this scheme can be found in the AHRC Research Funding Guide.

Interdisciplinary Research Grants Science and Heritage

As part of the Science and Heritage programme, AHRC and EPSRC are making funding available to support creative, cross-disciplinary research activities through Interdisciplinary Research Grants. Funding is available for between five and eight Interdisciplinary Research Grant projects (depending on value and quality), each at a maximum full economic cost of £800,000, and with a duration between 1 and 3 years. Proposals for 3 year grants may propose a maximum of three studentships in association with the project. The earliest permissible start date for projects will be 1st April 2010.
