Director of Resources
Graham Raikes, the Director of Resources, before going to the University of Southampton to read Geography on an Army Bursary, worked on building the road from the Red Sea to the Dead Sea.
Commissioned into The Royal Welsh Fusiliers and attending The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 1980, he served until 2003 when he left the Army and became the Director of Corporate Finance at the University of Plymouth.
After 18 months he held the dual appointments of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Resources) and the Director of Corporate Finance.
In 2008 he joined the AHRC, and became the Director of Resources in April 2009. He is responsible for the AHRC's infrastructure and finances.
In 1994 he qualified as both a Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) and Chartered Secretary and Administrator (ACIS). He was awarded the MBE in 1997, and became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA) and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (FCIS) in 2001.
